About the Author 

Gary D. Collier has a passion for helping others encounter Scripture in imaginative, dynamic, and innovative ways that open the heart of the reader to the heart of God.  The single-minded goal of his efforts is to help others renew their promise to God that his word will come alive in them through personal and powerful life-changing experience in Scripture.

Pursuing this passion, Collier founded and is the director of Coffee with Paul© Ministries and is a faculty member of biblical studies at Trinity College of the Bible & Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana.  He is an author, editor, lecturer, radio speaker, and minister. He holds B.A., M.Div., and Th.M. degrees in Biblical Literature and Languages and is currently writing his Ph.D. dissertation in studies on Paul.  He has a special interest in the uses, adaptations, and applications of Scripture in ancient authors, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, Philo of Alexandria, Rabbinic authors, and others. He taught biblical languages at Fuller Theological Seminary and the Iliff School of Theology, and biblical languages and literature at Martin University. He has also served as a minister in New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, California, Colorado, and Indiana.

He has published numerous books and articles about reading Scripture and was the founder and co-chairman of the one-time Seminar for Biblical Hermeneutics at the Christian Scholar's Conferences held at college campuses around the United States. He received the Everett Harrison, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award as outstanding graduate from Fuller Theological Seminary, and the coveted Gerald L. & Florence M. Schlessman Graduate Fellowship for academic achievement for entering doctoral work. He and his wife, Lanette, live in Cloverdale, IN.
